It was in mid-1994 when 5 young men first got together with the common interest of music.
Asrin, Suhairi, Idzwan and Eswandy are mates in the same class while Sani is Asrin's close
pal. They were then studying electronics engineering in Singapore Polytechnic. *hmmm, we
all still do...oh well...* Due to their uninteresting subject of study, these losers spent almost
all their time getting excited about their regular evening jam session or strumming some
'Kapok' guitar while skipping lectures instead of getting hysterical over some successful
programming in C++ language or in putting together a working electronics circuit.
- These lads may have a common interest in music but strangely every single one of them
has a varied taste in music. Somehow they've found the Smashing Pumpkins, early
Pearl Jam and early Rage against the Machine as their common taste in music. While
they were jamming regularly like mad, they were, at the same time, aimlessly lost.
Obviously, because they keep playing covers all the time. *sad bastards...* Worse
still they haven't even thought of a ruddy name for the band. It went on for years.
And they've only realised that they're backward after 2 years. *hahah* It was August 1996.
Somehow they've got a slot for this Nanyang Polytechnic Jam and Hop or something which
is already a big thing for them then. *heh* Only then that they realise the need to play their
own songs. Although under time constraints they somehow did their first original *ah! finally...* Unfortunately after that performance, they went blank for months. It was a time for these lads
to catch up with their social life while it seems like they were never gonna be a band again.
- It was early 1997 when 4 of them bozos then got back together for a second coming.
Idzwan, who has been very active with his main band, Sang Froid, was left to concentrate on
bigger things ahead with that band. *heh* For starters they've got themselves a bloody name.
*ah! finally...* And they started working on songs of their own. *ah! finally...* Though they have
not released anything yet, a promo recording is being planned and if money and army matters
permits, the band will start recording soon. It's still too early to say anything yet and some might
say that maybe it's still too early to do this homepage but what the heck eh? At least I'll have
something to do when I skip those dreaded early morning lectures.
- Okay everyone's been asking us why the hell are we called
? People has been
speculating a lot since we got that name. These are some of the quotes from our families and
friends. Anyway thanks a lot for the support and comments guys.
- So why? Why must we be called ? Including them asterisks too. Why? The reason is
that lass up there in the wedding picture. She is the reason. But just who the hell is that girl? Her name
is Heather Barnes. She is our faithful net-pal. *what? a net-pal?!!* Yes, our net-pal folks. But what's so
special about her anyway? She is considered to be our inspiration all along since the first time the band
got together. I dunno how but she inspires us in a way that is beyond explanation here. Just take it that way okay? If you somehow don't quite accept my explanation as sensible, sorry babies, I can't help you.
Just too bad that most of you don't know her. Hell I don't care. This band will always be named no matter what you all think. *hah*
